Obesity is a new â€Å"disease† which is brought on by our living habits. According to a survey called â€Å"Obesity and Overweight† done by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), almost two thirds of 60 million American adults are obese or overweight in the United States. Although many Americans are well-educated and understand about the negative effects of obesity, many of them are not aware of the problem. Thus, the CDC reported that there are about 15% of children ages two to nineteen in the United States are currently obese and all of them are considered at risk of becoming obese in their adulthood (â€Å"Obesity and Overweight†). Apparently, the number of obese young people is significantly growing and it needs to be controlled. This research will emphasize on different problems about American eating habit, and things that lead us to childhood obesity. Moreover, some specific solutions will be provided in order to help parents to prevent thei r children from childhood obesity. Childhood obesity is an emergency threat to our public health.
